NOTD: Ombre Nails

I was going through my nail polishes today and I realized that I had a lot of colours in different shades. I had enough pinks, purples and oranges to do ombre nails. I decided to do purples ombre nails first. Apparently I am all about the purples these days, because my last two NOTD have also been purples. Oh, well another one won't hurt. 

Ombre nails were very trendy last year. Lauren Conrad was pictured sporting them a couple of times on the red carpet. You can see her attempts here. 

I used these five nail polishes which I've had forever. Out of the five the 17 one is my favourite. It's such a pretty, pinky lilac.This is the sequence I've used them in.

Rimmel Purple Reign, Asda Nail Polish in Lilac 28 

Normally, with ombre nails you paint your pinky the darkest and subsequently paint the next nail a shade lighter. Today I decided to paint it the lightest (honestly, I forgot and I thought the pinky was supposed to be the lightest. We're going to pretend that I did it on purpose). Ombre nails are still very trendy this year as well. They're perfect for spring, because they show the transition from winter to spring/summer.

(Pretty Little Liars Inspired) NOTD: Pretty In Pink By Color Studio & Lemon Ice-Cream By Barry M

I know this post coming after a long hiatus, but it's only because I have been really busy. I have been accused of being 'distracted' and 'life shutter outer' (you know who you are!!). This month shall hopefully be different. 

This NOTD was supposed to be up last week, but I just couldn't get around it. I tried to recreate Hanna's look with similar looking shades. Honestly, it took me a while to get used to it. I wasn't sure if I liked it or not. I had to endure a lot of teasing from my mother. However after a couple of hours I got used to it and started loving the bright florescent colors on my nails. The colors both individually and combined scream spring. (I'm not looking forward to winter slipping away). 

Color Studio Pretty In Pink

I'm not a big fan of the Color Studio nail polishes, but I adore this pretty pink, which is also called Pretty In Pink. It is So me! This is a color I will be using a lot for spring/summer. I used two coats of it to achieve this look.

 What I don't like about the Color Studio nail polishes is that they chip easily. This particular one started chipping the very next day (note: I did not use a base coat or a top coat). Also, the consistency of the nail polish is very thin and tends to streak. 

Color Studio has a large variety of colors available, and for Rs250 they're worth a try. 

Barry M Lemon Ice Cream

I used my Barry M nail polish in Lemon Ice-Cream after what feels like forever. I had two coats of this as well, and I am really impressed with it's longevity. I had never noticed it's lasting power before, but painted next to the Color Studio one it totally showed off how long it could last without chipping (4 to 5 days). The Barry M nail polishes are my favorite- right up there with the Rimmel ones ( although I like the Rimmel one more for it's brush rather than it's lasting power).

I love Tuesdays, because I get to see so many of my favorite shows all on the same- Pretty Little Liars included. I never thought Melisa had anything to do with A. Did any of you see this coming? Who do you think A is?

Today I'm wearing Nail Paint By Barry M in 024. This pretty lilac shade is from one of their limited collections. I'm in love with it, its just perfect for summer! I've only applied one coat today but it still looks so pretty. The nail polish is quick drying and applies smoothly.
