Hot Trend Alert: Hot Pink Lips For Spring

Make-up trends don't usually influence what products I buy or how I do my make-up each season. However with all the blogs I read and beauty videos I watch it's hard not to be aware of the big beauty trends. Sometimes I discover a trend and think there is no way I'm going to try that. Then it keeps popping everywhere and I can't help be drawn to it. After seeing it a few times it does not look as scary as it initially did. Does that happen to you as well?

(One of) The trends I was planning on skipping this year was the bright, hot pink lips. It's completely out of my comfort zone. I love my light pink lipsticks and sheer glosses, hot pink lips just didn't seem something I would try. The trend has started to grow on me though. I've seen so many celebs (Blake Lively, Alexis Bledel, Beyonce) and beauty guru's (missglamourazzi) sporting this look and I feel I can muster up the courage to inflame my lips with a little hot pink colour.

Lauren Conrad, Mahira Khan, Kate Bosworth, Alexis Bledel

This look was all over fashion week and the models were seen with minimum make-up with a pop of bright  colour on the lips. Ideally, It'll look great with a bold eye liner, peachy and peach pink cheeks. You can also skip the eye liner and go heavy on the mascara instead (like me).

Here are some lipsticks you can try to achieve this look

Luscious Cosmetic Signature Lipstick in- #16 Raspberry  (The one Mahira Khan is wearing in the adds)
Luscious Cosmetics Lip Couture in- Paparazzi
Loreal Caresse Lipstick In- Cheeky Magenta (They're releasing in Pakistan very soon. Review coming soon)
Revlon Lip Butter In- Lollipop
Maybelline #140 Fuchsia Fever

Splurge
Dior Addict Lipstick In- Diorkiss (personal favourite)
Nars lipstick in-Schiap

This one of the biggest/hottest trends for spring. Are you going to try this look? I for one am going to take a plunge and rock bold pink lips this spring.

Video Tutorial: Fishtail Braid

The fishtail braid looks so chic! It has quickly become my favourite braid because not only does it get me so many compliments it looks effortless and stylish. Who doesn't like that, right? I usually asked someone to braid it for me though. Recently Lauren Conrad, did a video tutorial on it and I thought I'd share it. Her hair stylist Kristin Ess gives one of her favourite secret tricks on how to make a perfect fishtail braid. According to her even the most uncoordinated person (like me) will be able to make one after watching the tutorial. It's a big promise right? Well, I've certainly been practising and I think I'm getting the hang of it.

Tools: 2 clear elastics, scissors, patience.
Steps:
For a smoother braid, brush your hair out first. For a messier braid, leave the natural texture and separate the hair with your fingers.
Create a ponytail using a clear elastic.
Split the ponytail into two separate pieces.
Take a piece from the first side and pass it to the 2nd side.
Next take a piece from the 2nd side and pass it back to the 1st side
Once you’ve finished your braid, go in with your scissors and CAREFULLY cut the clear elastic at the top.
Optional: gently pull on the pieces to loosen it up if you wish!

I hope this helps :)

Video Tutorial: Lauren Conrad's Signature Ballerina Bun

I started noticing the rise (haha!) of the ballerina bun when Lauren Conrad started styling her hair like this (obviously). After that I've noticed a lot of celebrities styling their hair in a ballerina bun.

The ballerina bun is such a cute look for so many reasons. It’s classic, it’s quick, it can make you look taller, and you can wear it with almost anything! The ballerina bun can be worn high up on the top of your head or down lower near the back of your neck. Either way, our favorite ”go-to-do” for anyone with collar bone length hair or longer.

• Tools: 1″ barrell curling iron, clear elastic or pony tail holder, smoothing + updo brush, 4-6 large bobby pins, firm holding hairspray.
• Using a 1 inch curling iron quickly curl all of your hair under.
• Flip hair over and gather into a high ponytail securing with an elastic or ponytail holder.
• Using your smoothing brush, back comb (lightly tease) hair. (This will help the bun look more voluminous!)
• Twist hair and wrap around the base to create your bun shape.
• Insert bobby pins along the base of the bun, securing it to your head.
• Spray all over with a firm holding hairspray and smooth down fly-aways.
Quick Tip: Shake your head side to side to make sure it’s really secure before you  finish

Mash Up Of Random Celebrity News!

After revealing taupe-y brown strands in January, style star Lauren Conrad showed off a lighter golden hue during  her appearance on Chelsea Latelythis week. “I did a poll on my website I just launched, of whether I should stay brown or go blond, and blond won.” Her inspiration: the beach! “We tried to do it like surfer hair, so it’s as if the sun did it, and not chemicals,”

Jennifer Aniston was the belle of Spike TV's ball on Saturday night when she accepted its Decade of Hotness honor during the Guys Choice Awards ceremony in LA! She radiated California chic in a LBD, rocked beachy blond hair, and showed off tanned legs while talking to old friends backstage.

Oh, and Jen finally went public with her new guy Justin Theroux at MTV Movie Awards after party!

Leo and Blake? Who would have thought? Are you rooting for this couple?

Harry, by far the cutest Prince in the world. This is him playing polo at England's Cirencester Park Polo Club.

I don't remember the last Josh Hartnett movie I saw but this picture is worth posting. He looks gooood!

Video Tutorial: The Perfect Cat-Eye Liner

Lauren Conrad's makeup artist Amy Nadine has helped the star perfect her precise stripes of liquid eye-liner, and in this video tutorial she shows you how to achieve her look.

Drag the tip lightly across the lash line upward and outward towards the end of her brow. The harder you press the tip, the thicker the line, so start with light pressure than gradually press harder as you travel across towards the outer corners. Finish with two coast of very black mascara and you're good to go.

Video Tutorial: Lauren Conrad's Every Day Waves

Lauren Conrad

I'm always trying to in-cooperate Lauren Conrad's effortless chic style in to my own. In this video Lauren takes us step by step on how to get her every day wave.

To achieve Lauren's every day wave, follow these steps:
• Tools: protective serum or argon oil, 1″ barrel curling iron, light hold hairspray, comb.
• Work a small amount of protective serum through the ends of your hair.
• Using a 1″ barrell curling iron, curl sections of hair away from your face.
• (The section of your hair should be comparable to the size of the curling iron)
• Comb through curls to soften them up.
• To finish, spray hair with a light holding hairspray
