Nail Of The Day: O.P.I I'm Not Really A Waitress

I'm still in the mood to ignore summer as much as I can. Even though it's spring in most parts of the world, summer has officially started in Lahore in all it's blazing glory.

Today I'm wearing O.P.I I'm Not Really A Waitress on my nails. It's such a pretty shimmery, metallic, deep ruby red nail colour. When I purchased it I didn't know that that this is one of O.P.I's  award winning/best selling nail polishes. I can understand why it is so hyped though, because it's gorgeous! The colour reminds me of the red shoes from Wizard of Oz (the shimmer in I'm Not A Waitress is very subtle though).

This is a dream to apply. It glided on smoothly, without any streaking (unlike Lincoln Park After Dark). Like all the other O.P.I nail polishes it dried really quickly as well (which I love). I used two coats to get the desired shade. Obviously, the only thing I would change about it is the price! I've never had to think twice before buying a nail polish before!
Which one is your favourite O.P.I nail colour? Any suggestion for my next purchase?

NOTD: Lincoln Park After Dark By O.P.I

I bought the LitesDarks mini set only because of Lincoln Park After Dark. I hadn't seen this individually at the stores or at Just4girls.pk. I've read so many blog posts and seen so many video's where this cult favorite would pop up. I really love dark nail colors!
I am some one who frequently wears black (and often get asked by my 6 year old baby cousin why I choose to wear such a 'horrible color' on my nails. haha!), and this was right up ally.

O.P.I Lincoln Park After Dark
Is it worth the hype? I don't know about anyone else, but I love it. One coat is a very deep plum-ish purple. The second coat takes this hybrid in it to the dark(er) side. In my opinion it looks very vampy, which I adore. Even though winter is gone, I know I am going to wear it all summer long.
O.P.I Lincoln Park After Dark
The mini bottles are so tiny!

The longevity of the O.P.I nail polishes is amazing! It is rare that a nail polish lasts more than two or three days on my nails without chipping (Barry M is an exception). Yes, it is a curse because I'm too lazy to change/remove them so soon after application. I've used two other O.P.I's including this one, and they've both lasted on my nails for at least a week. However Lincoln Park After Dark started chipping sooner compared to the other two I've used. I don't use any base or top coat. Like I said, I'm lazy. Also, it dries really quickly as well!

The only reason I have to think twice about buying O.P.I (okay, it's more of a deliberation going back and forth quite a few times) is the price
.
I've loved this one so much, that I have now ordered a full size. Just4girls.pk now stocks them individually.  *sigh* In my defence O.P.I is well worth the investment despite the hefty price tag (Rs850), but their color selection is endless and the quality is amazing.

Have you tried O.P.I yet? If so which one is your favorite.

(Pretty Little Liars Inspired) NOTD: Pretty In Pink By Color Studio & Lemon Ice-Cream By Barry M

I know this post coming after a long hiatus, but it's only because I have been really busy. I have been accused of being 'distracted' and 'life shutter outer' (you know who you are!!). This month shall hopefully be different.

This NOTD was supposed to be up last week, but I just couldn't get around it. I tried to recreate Hanna's look with similar looking shades. Honestly, it took me a while to get used to it. I wasn't sure if I liked it or not. I had to endure a lot of teasing from my mother. However after a couple of hours I got used to it and started loving the bright florescent colors on my nails. The colors both individually and combined scream spring. (I'm not looking forward to winter slipping away).

Color Studio Pretty In Pink

I'm not a big fan of the Color Studio nail polishes, but I adore this pretty pink, which is also called Pretty In Pink. It is So me! This is a color I will be using a lot for spring/summer. I used two coats of it to achieve this look.
What I don't like about the Color Studio nail polishes is that they chip easily. This particular one started chipping the very next day (note: I did not use a base coat or a top coat). Also, the consistency of the nail polish is very thin and tends to streak.

Color Studio has a large variety of colors available, and for Rs250 they're worth a try.

Barry M Lemon Ice Cream

I used my Barry M nail polish in Lemon Ice-Cream after what feels like forever. I had two coats of this as well, and I am really impressed with it's longevity. I had never noticed it's lasting power before, but painted next to the Color Studio one it totally showed off how long it could last without chipping (4 to 5 days). The Barry M nail polishes are my favorite- right up there with the Rimmel ones ( although I like the Rimmel one more for it's brush rather than it's lasting power).

I love Tuesdays, because I get to see so many of my favorite shows all on the same- Pretty Little Liars included. I never thought Melisa had anything to do with A. Did any of you see this coming? Who do you think A is?

PS: For all those in Pakistan who are hoping to get their hands on Barry M nail polishes Just4girls.pk now stocks them.

NOTD: Purple Reign By Rimmel

I'm not someone who makes a conscious effort to match my clothes with my nail polish. It's usually the other way round, I try to make my nails stand out, rather than blend in with my outfit When I went out with Aroosa on Saturday, it was coincidence that I painted my nails the same color as my shirt and ballet flats.

Rimmel Purple Reign
It took two coats to achieve the color of the polish. Rimmel nail polishes are my favorite because of they're long lasting and the brush makes application effortless. Even someone like me, who is not great at painting my nails can achieve a decent look.

Purple Reign has specks of shimmer in it. Don't be scared though, because the shimmer is very subtle. It is the color that stands out the most.

I love wearing bold colors on my nails. It's one of the few things I don't mind taking risks with.

My inspiration was a picture of Hanna that I found online.

Do you love bold nail colors?

(Pretty Little Liars Inspired) NOTD: Luscious Cleopatra & Rimmel 740 Clear

The exact colour of the nail polishes Aria was wearing in the episode Through Many Dangers, Toils and Snares are  Priti’s “Devil’s Blackbone”, which is a dark shimmery green and OPI’s gold glitter “Spark De Triomphe”.

I recreated the look by using Luscious's Cleopatra and Rimmel's 740 Clear.

Luscious Cleopatra

Rimmel 740 Clear

I was expecting Luscious Cleopatra to be more of a sheer top coat. I was surprised at how opaque it is. I achieved this look with two coats of the nail polish.

The Rimmel one is really opaque was well. 740 clear is a dark shimmery green just like the one Aria had on her nails. I just had to use one coat and got the desired result.

Price: Luscious Cleopatra: RS 225
Rimmel 740 Clear: Rs 350

NOTD: Rimmel Lycra Pro Professional Finish In Fancy Fuchsia

I'm so excited for the return of Pretty Little Liars. Only four more days left. I thought I'd do a NOTD post in honour of Pretty Little Liars. I love the nail colour that is shown in the opening credits. It's such a pretty neon pink. I want to get my hands on the exact nail polish, but till then I've painted my nails a similar colour and started counting down the days till the return of PLL!

4 days left till Pll ( In Pakistan)

The girls on the show always have the most amazing colours on their nails. They're always rocking the latest nail trends. Over the next few weeks I'm going to do PLL inspired NOTD's.

Okay, so I know this isn't the exact shade, but this is the closest I have to it right now. I have Rimmel Lycra Pro in Fancy Fuchsia on my nails. Rimmel nail polishes are probably some of my favourites nail, because of the 'mistake free' brush. I just wish Rimmel nail polishes had a wider range of shades.

NOTD: Luscious Nail Lacquer In Valentine

I'm going out with one of my friends today. It's going to be another day of sitting at our favourite coffee place and talking about conspiracy theories (we've just started watching The Arrivals and trust me when I say its captivating). Sounds exciting doesn't it?! Ha!Ha!

Since I'm going out I thought I'd paint my nails a bright red. Luscious nail polishes are always a hit or a miss for me. This red (in Valentine) is my absolute favourite!! It applies smoothly and lasts a decent amount of time, but the gorgeous shade is what wins me over time and again.

Luscious nail polishes are inexpensive compared to some other high end brands, which is always a plus point.

NOTD: Bourjois 'So Laque Ultra Shine' in Rouge Diva

Since I'm blogging after what feels like forever, I though I'd start with something small. A NOTD post seems perfect for my plunge back in to the blogging world.

I've been lusting after dark nail colours ever since YouTube beauty guru's started sporting them on their nails in the beginning of fall. My nail polish collection mostly consists of bright summery colours and I've been putting off buying any 'winter/fall' colours because I couldn't justify adding to my already large collection (and winter has barely started in Lahore). My sister and I stopped by the Bourjois counter a few days ago and I told her to get this colour for herself. Since then this is all I've been gravitating towards. Last night I was watching a new Juicystar07 video and she had a similar colour on her nails. (You can imagine the delight of this YouTube addict)

The Bourjois 'so laque unltra shine' is a little on the pricey side but I love the formulation and  lasting power (It's easy to love it because I wasn't the one who splurged on it). It  glides on smoothly, without streaking and it lasts for more than 5 days on my nails. Which is quite an achievement since nothing lasts on my nails more than two to three days at the most.

The shade I have on is Rouge Diva which is a pretty deep red.

Nail Polish Of The Day: 17 Lasting Fix Polsih In Orange Soda

I'm obsessed with bright nail colours these days. I have 17 Lasting Fix Nail Polish in Orange Soda on my nails today. It's such a pretty florescent bright orange.

I'm sure everyone is aware that 17 nail polishes are great. Although not the longest lasting or most chip resistant they are awesome for a budget burst of bright colour. Even though 'bolt from the blue' is a little hard to apply, this particular nail polish applied like a dream. I don't know if it has something to do with the formula, because this is lasting fix and 'bolt from the blue' is a fast finish.

Its a perfect almost a neon, pastel orange, which is ideal for summer. I have just one coat on my nails- today was one of those lazy days :)

Are you a girl who loves a bright pop of colour on her nails?

Nail Polish Of The Day: Barry M Nail Paint In Lemon Ice Cream & Mint Green

I've been wanting to try the two toned nail trend  forever-and finally today I did. Yellow nail polish is all I can think about these days and today was no exception, but it took me a while to decide on the colour combination. I finally decided on this one :)!

I applied two coats of both nail polishes.

What do you think of these two together? I would love to know if you have any great colour combinations in mind, I would love to try them. :)

Nail Polish Of The Day: Essence Colour In Ultimate Pink ♥

Essence Colour: Ultimate Pink

I was at Al-Fatah the other day and to my delight they had a new make-up counter/brand on display. It's called essence and it's really cheap. I bought this nail polish for RS200!Yes!Essence has the prettiest yellows, pinks and purples. A lilac one got my eye, but I ended up buying the pink one instead. I know I have a lot of pinks, but a girl can never have enough pink nail polishes in her collection.

Nail Polish Of The Day: 17 Fast Finish Nail Polish In 'Bolt From The Blue'

I've been wanting a nail colour that is similar to missglamorazzi on YouTube! Turns out I have one in my collection (thank you Nooria <3)! Its a light blue nail colour by 17 called 'Bolt From The Blue'. This colour is very similar to Essie's 'Borrowed and Blue'. The downside to the 17 nail polish is that its very very hard to apply. It goes on thick and gooey.

Looks great with a tan!

*Quick Tip
I use the brush applicator from a clear Rimmel nail polish to apply all my 17 nail polishes. It makes a lot of difference.

Nail Polish Of The Day: Pop Rose 293 By Rimmel London

Pop Rose 293 Rimmel London

Pop Rose is one of my favourite colours for Summer. It's a gorgeous bright florescent pink which is ideal for both Spring and Summer. I had been on the look out for this colour for ages, and I was so excited when I finally got my hands on it.

I can not say enough good things about Rimmel nail polishes. They're long lasting and very very  easy to apply. The sticker on the cap says "mistake free application", and trust me it's not just a claim. Their new maxi brush is great for some one like me, who isnt' the best at applying nail polishes.

Nail Polish Of The Day: Nail Paint By Barry M In 024

Nail Paint by Barry M in 024

Today I'm wearing Nail Paint By Barry M in 024. This pretty lilac shade is from one of their limited collections. I'm in love with it, its just perfect for summer! I've only applied one coat today but it still looks so pretty. The nail polish is quick drying and applies smoothly.

Barry M is a British brand which has a large variety of stunning shades. You can check out their website here.
