Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, Nicole Richie, Eva Longoria, Rihanna
This is one trend I'm really excited for. Cuff bracelets are super trendy at the moment. I've been seeing them in magazines, on celebrities and in stores. The other day my friend Aroosa and I went to Accessorize, there were tons of cuff bangles there as well. I have my eyes on a really pretty gold one.
I've always considered cuff bracelets as boho chic because, celebrities like Vanessa Hudgens, Miley Cyrus, and Nicole Ritchie who are known for their bohemian style are rarely seen without them. However, Chunky cuff bracelets, and the perfect way to jazz up a casual or dressy outfit. It's the perfect way to kick your style up a notch with some trendy arm candy.
This is the favourite cuff bracelet from my jewellery collection. I love that it has a very ethnic feel to it.
This is the gold one I have on my wish list. Isn't it pretty?
Cuff bracelets/bangles were hot for spring but they're going to be even trendier for fall. Are you excited for this trend? Do you like cuff bangles/bracelets?

I owe my unhealthy obsession for make-up to NARS Orgasm. This is what got me hooked to make-up,YouTube beauty video's and blogs. Months of researching online to see if it was worth buying, I was catapulted in to the world of beauty and make-up. After weeks of deliberating I decided that it was time I got my hands on it. Hey, when half the world is raving about it, you know you got to have to at least give it a try. Haha!
I love nail polish, hairstyle, jewellery and make-up trends because they're easy to follow regardless of where you live in the world. You can always in-cooperate these trends in your look, no what your personal style is.
Over the years, Chanelhas come out various shades that instantly became cult favourites...I mean, does anyone else remember the black and mint green trends? I stocked up on dupes of bothc shades as if they were running out of style. The next big thing? Denim-inspired colour. The word is out that the fashion mega brand will launch three new blue shades on September 8th (in stores and on Chanel.com) and they're limited edition, e.g. only available until the end of September!
Are you, like me, going to start hunting for good dupes? Is this something you're excited to try for fall?
Remember a few years ago when the movie Bunty& Bubli came out and everyone was obsessed with Rani Mukherjee's clothes!?? That movie had influenced Pakistani fashion in such a big way from the sleeves (cuffed quarter sleeves), shalwaar to the length of the shirts, oh and how can I forget the neck line? I specifically remember my darzi telling me that everyone was asking for the turned neck line (or whatever you call it) that Rani was seen wearing in the posters and movie itself. There have been various other Bollywood films that have influenced trends in Pakistan as well over the years.
The other day I was watching an item song Kareena and Salman did for their new movie 'Bodyguard' on YouTube and I was horrified at the clothes she was wearing. Kareena always has the most stunning make-up and clothes in all her films, but in this particular song she commits one faux pas after another.
I just couldn't help but worry if her look in 'Desi Beat's' will influence our fashion scene. Short shirts are coming back, but I hope they don't get this short. I don't even know where to begin on the colour combination of her clothes (blue, silver, pink and cream all in one outfit??:s) . Who designed her clothes? Doesn't she always hire Manish Malhotra?
Don't get me wrong she is stunning and and she wears the most breathtaking saris. One of my favourite costumes Kareena has ever worn is the black and gold lehnga she wears at the end of 'Falak pay chal'. I <3 it in a big way. I also love the blue and white one she wears in the beginning. I love the contrast they did with the yellow duppatta over it.
So what is your take on 'Desi Beats'? Are you in love with Kareena's non-fashionable moment? Are you some one who is going to be influenced by it or will you stay away from it?
I've been wanting to try more products from Luscious for a while, and I finally got off the lazy wagon and got my hands on a few things (well, actually just two). Out of the two, the lipstick is definitely a favourite.
Luscious Claims:
Our long-lasting formula enriched with Vitamin E and the super antioxidant Grape Seed Oil speaks for itself. It will never change color or dry out, keeping lips moisturised and happy. We’ve added extra color for great coverage. Try it to believe it!
This is a product I rediscovered recently, and I can't believe I've ignored it for so long. I actually bought the scrub by mistake because it looks exactly like one of Zoya's creams. The hand and foot scrub is now one of my favourites products from Zoya. It's a creamy scrub with Apricots grains and oil. I use it every other day, even though on the back it says the scrub is gentle enough to be used every day. It honestly makes the hands and feet extremely soft and super clean, you can actually feel and see the difference. It has a fruity scent which lingers on the skin for a while, which I don't mind because I like fruity scents.
What I love about it is that it doesn't make my skin dry at all. Also, now I don't feel conscious of my feet when I wear flip flops. Yay!
It's designed for:
Dry hands and feet with dead skin cells
Rough heels
Dark ankles and knuckles
The scrub is inexpensive (RS185), and delivers everything it claims to. Even though I'm not a fan of the packaging, this small tube has lasted me for two months. For the price it's definitely worth a try.
PS. Zoya 'The Herbal Workshop' is available at all leading stores nationwide.
Even though I'm a self confessed blushaholic, and I hoard blushes as if they're running out of style, I have a very limited range of colours that makes my heart skip a beat at times. I usually stay in the pink-peach colour palette. Yes, I'm not very adventurous when it comes to the colour of my cheeks.
When Benefit Bella Bamba came out, I was bombarded with all the YouTube videos that claimed it was one of Benefit's best blushes. Now when they put it like that, how could I resist?
When most celebrities want to release their wedding/baby pictures they make deals with tabloid magazines (for a hefty price). Only Kate Moss would have her wedding photos in Vogue ... in the September issue!
Supermodel Kate Moss married Jamie Hince -- lead singer of the Kills -- in early July, and now their wedding pics are on the pages of the fashion magazine's biggest issue of the year.
Mario Testino shot the pics, because only the man who photographed the royal couple (Will and Kate) would be good enough to photograph rock/model royalty!
Check out some of the stunning moments captured by Mario Testino.Hamish Bowles had the opportunity to sit down with the iconic supermodel and feed us his ingenious take on the Moss-Hince wedding
I know I got my hands on the Viva Glam Gaga edition 1 a little late, but despite that I♥ it. I'm completely head over heals in love with it's gorgeous-ness. It's a really pinky pinkish colour, which you have to rock! For me it's not an everyday lipgloss, because of the dramatic pink lips look! But I'm always looking for a chance to wear it.
Even though it looks bubble gum pink,it's a pale milky pinky-beige colour without any shimmer or glitter in it. It's colour that's little out of my comfort zone because it's so bright, I'm so happy I got it.
It is a little sticky (like most MAC lipglosses) but it lasts for a long time. I only wish I'd gotten the lipstick as well.
Be forewarned: I’m not a hair person. That is to say, I’m a lazy hair person. I don't straighten my hair because it damages my already frail hair. I don't pin curl, or do anything requiring bobby pins. I’ve never been a very good French braider. That’s why I love the messy ponytail seen on fall/winter runways — I know no other kind.
Last season Alexander Wang inspired side braid was the hottest hair style of the season. Celebrities from Cheryl Cole, Rachel McAdams, and Nicole Richie were spotted with the it. Even though this trend is still extremely popular right now and will definitely make a transition in to Fall/Winter there's a new hair style trending right now. This season Alexander Wang has done it again with the messy backcombed ponytail.

There is no better way to pump up your average ponytail than with a good teasing. Pull hair back and wrap a one-inch section around the elastic to achieve the wrapped-around look. Next, backcomb at the crown and heavily in the ponytail to get texture and edgy volume. You don't want to make your ponytail too high on the head. Location is very important. The ponytail is going to be in the middle of the head which is a little more playful.
Even though in the above pictures the ponytails the models are supporting are a little exaggerated, you can make it as polished as you want or stick the original style and keep it messy. Personally, I like the messy look (but not too messy though). You can also make a parting of your choice at the front and then back comb your hair at the crown.
This look is going to be big for fall. Are you going to style your hair like you just don't care?
Last year when my skin was going through a bad phase, I had no choice but to start using a foundation. I wanted one that had excellent coverage but still looked natural. My cousin suggested I try Bare Escentuals original foundation. Now this foundation is a cult favourite! I read so many good things about it, that I knew I needed it in my life. I wasn't disappointed when I (finally) got my hands on it.
Lauren Conrad posted this picture on twitter the other day. She along with her best friends attended a beach wedding. How stunning does she look? This just had to be both a style crush and make-up envy! Love, love, love her dress and subtle, yet perfect for summer make-up!
The second part of the Fall Trend series focuses on bolder, more dramatic trends that are going to be extremely popular in the next few months.
Bold Trends For Fall
Trend# 1 Teased Hair
This is a look that a lot of celebrities have been sporting lately, from red carpet events to late night talk shows (like Katie Holmes). This has also been a staple on the run way. You can go for a simple version of this trend by teasing your hair in the front to make a poof. Start from the top and the work your way to the side. When you finish teasing your hair, spray the poof with your favourite hair spray. Tie your hair in to a ponytail. Pull out a few strands from the sides, to give it a more messy look.
Trend# 2 Metallic Eye Shadow
Metallic eye shadow is very big this year. A simple way to achieve this look is by picking any bold colour like a metallic blue, gold or brown and apply it all over your lids till your crease. You can also apply the same eye shadow to the inner corners of you eye, to give it a very glammed up look.
Trend# 3 Graphic Liner
The heavy graphic liner made a bold statement on the runway recently and is a more modern take on the classic winged liner. Dramatic liner is shaping up to be a huge beauty trend for the fall.
Trend# 4 Red Lips
This is one of the trends that is definitely out of my comfort zone. One of the biggest lip trends this year is red lips. Shades from hot pink to red to deep wine/mulberry lip are hot for fall.
Trend# 5 Gold Liner
If intense metallic eyes aren't your thing, you can achieve a subtler (but equally striking) version of the look with gold-rimmed eyes. Brush a gold shadow over the lids, then apply liquid gold liner to the upper and lower lash lines.
Trend# 6 Flushed Cheeks
Just dab your favourite cream blush on the apple of your cheeks and you're good to go.
Trend# 7 Nails
For all those who think neutral nails are a little boring, you can always opt for one of these nail trends. Metallic nail colour is super trendy for fall. Beige, browns, greys, muted deep red nails are also big for fall/winter.
So since fall is on it's way, I thought I'd do a series of posts on the hottest fall beauty/jewellery trends this year. There are two looks that have been dominating beauty trends for fall. One is more natural and wearable, the other one is bold and dramatic. Obviously you can mix all these different trends together and create your own look.
The Natural Look
Trend# 1 Braids
Braids are very popular this fall. You can go for any braid that you want, but the most popular one is a messy side braid. You don't want this braid to be perfect; the messier the better. I love Lauren Conrad's braid <3!
Trend# 2 Bold Brows
Bold brows are making a very big statement this year, and lots of celebrities are embracing this look. If you're too scared to grow out your brows, take an easy way out by filling them with a brow pencil. You can also take an eye brow brush and brush them upwards, which is also very popular fall.
Trend# 3 Spider Lashes
This look is very easy to achieve. Just take your favourite mascara and apply it as you normally would, from the root to the tip. To create the spider effect, start going behind your lashes and curl upwards. This is instantly going to give you very spidery looking lashes. The other day the lady at the Maybelline counter tried this look on me, and I must say it looked pretty good!
Trend# 4 Pastel Lips
I love that pastel lips are very popular for fall. I wear pastel shades all year long, this is something that's in my comfort zone.
Trend# 5 Neutral Nails
Neutral nails were big at Yves Saint Laurent Fall 2011 RTW. I'm pretty sure this trend was inspired by Kate Middleton. Not only did she have neutral coloured nails on her wedding day, she had a similar manicure at other Royal events and on the Canadian tour as well.
Trend# 6 Glowy Cheekbones
Patting a highlighter on the top of your cheekbones is the next best thing to bathing them in candlelight. Just be sure to look for a formula that's warm and peachy, not overtly frosty. I heart!!
My favourite fall trends are the braids and pastel lips. <3
Which fall trend is your favourite? Is there one on your list that you can't wait to try out? Is there a trend that you're going to pass?
I've been obsessing over my hair so much these days. It's always been extremely dry and (often) frizzy but these days it's just been lifeless. I came across a recipe for a home-made hair mask, which I thought I'd try out. I've tried it twice, and the results have been pretty good.
The Mask: Mix one cup of plain, whole milk yoghurt with one teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil and apply the mask after you've washed your hair. The mask sits for five minutes and is then rinsed out.
I did all of the above except, just rinsed out my hair. After shampooing, I applied the mask, and let it sit for 5-10 minutes. I rinsed it out at first, but my hair still felt greasy, so I had to wash my hair for the second time. It worked just as well!
Did it work? Surprisingly, it did! I have wavy hair, and my hair looked straighter and for once it was easy to brush through it. I scrunched my hair while it was still wet, because that's just the way I like it. Otherwise I'm pretty sure they would've been relatively straighter. My hair has been glossy and soft ever since I've used it. Today my cousin complimented me on my "bouncy curls". (They're so lifeless otherwise) This 'hair mask' is so simple I didn't even think it'd work, but it does. <3
Is this something you're going to try out? Let me know your beauty/hair secrets.
